Had a modified that ran at Hatfield and Reading back in the early 60s. Del Bitting drove the 17jr for me. 17 was Del's first car #. Got alot of advice from Del's brother, Claude "Fat" Bitting. Dick you told us if we ever got it to fire on all eight cylinders for the complete race we wound win alot of features. I am now involved with the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society as one of their directors. We were at the last Sanatoga reunion. It is a joy to get together with all the oldtimers and lie about all the old stories. Dick, if you can help me, I was approched by a person at this years Reading Fair about his grandfather, Henry "Frenchy" LeClere that he said ran Hatfield back in the mid to late 50s. Any information you might have on this person would be appreciated. Talking with Freddy Adam, he could not remember this driver, but maybe you can. please give my e-mail address incase someone out their in racing land can help. Thanks for the memories.

Dick,

Had a chance to meet you at Ponce Inlet this year for the Living Legends event at the lighthouse. It was an honor and priveledge to meet you, obtain your autograph, and listen to stories of yesteryear. I've only recently become a history buff of racing, but have been a fans for over a decade. Thanks for making the trip down from Ohio worth it!

Sincerely,

Jeremy T. Sellers
